Dr. Vanessa Walker is a board certified pulmonary and critical care physician. She currently works in intensive care units providing care in person as well as virtually through telemedicine applications. Dr. Walker received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2007. She then completed internal medicine residency at University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine where she stayed an additional year to serve as chief resident. Dr. Walker pursued subspecialty training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Duke University where she also graduated with a Masters of Management in Clinical Informatics from the Fuqua School of Business. She has many leadership positions within Sutter Health including Medical Director of the Valley Area eICU,  Medical Director for Physician Quality at Sutter Roseville Medical Center and Chair of the system wide Critical Care Clinical Improvement Community.  She is involved in organized medicine and serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society and as the Medical Advisor for the California Society for Respiratory Care.

Dr. Walker is passionate about healthcare worker wellness and addressing burnout in the medical field. She also enjoys educating the public and frequently partners with media and local organizations to speak on trending medical issues.
