Annual Tobacco Litter Pick-up
Join BREATHE’s tobacco team and Youth Advisory Board at Howe Community Park for the 6th Annual Tobacco Litter Pick-Up event on Saturday, April 5th from 8:30am-12pm!Breathe California Sacramento Region will offer on-site training in partnership with the Greater Sacramento Smoke & Tobacco Free Coalition, the Sacramento County Tobacco Education and Prevention Program, Equestrian Patrol, Sierra Club, Sacramento Area Creeks Council, River City Waterway Alliance and the Association of Women in Water, Energy and Environment.

Come out and help keep our parks free of tobacco waste and make connections with the community.

EVENT DATE: Saturday, April 5th from 8:30am-12pm

  • Check in at 8:30am for coffee and snacks
  • Volunteers will be required to complete a waiver form (both adults and youth) upon arrival
  • Free parking is available
  • There will be opportunities for volunteers to win raffle prizes!

During the event

  • We recommend wearing sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen
  • BREATHE will provide trash bags, gloves, extra water, and snacks. We do recommend that you bring your own water and you are welcome to bring your own tools, such as trash grabbers
  • For the safety of our volunteers, Breathe California Sacramento Region volunteer events are subject to cancellation in the case of weather, flooding, and other natural causes. An email notifying all registered volunteers and staff will be sent out if cancellation is necessary
