She is from Santa Maria, a small town off the wonderful Central Coast of California. Elaina is involved in several organizations on the UC Davis campus, including the Campus Center for the Environment, where she runs the student-community gardens; as well as Vice President of Na Keiki O Hawaii, a Polynesian dance group that advocates for the cultural exposure of Polynesian culture at UC Davis and the greater Davis area. With indigenous roots, Elaina has always had a passion for the environment and climate change. In her time off the clock, Elaina enjoys watching movies and hiking with friends, gardening, dancing hula, thrifting, and trying new recipes.
