Katie Cox

Deputy Director

When Katie Cox graduated Sonoma State with an English Literature degree, she realized her true passion was for public lands preservation, natural resource advocacy and youth-based environmental education. From 2013 to 2015, Katie completed coursework in the Environment & Community graduate program at Humboldt State University. Her thesis investigated barriers to participation in backcountry recreation and the environmental movement among communities of color. It was then Katie realized the deep relationship between social justice, environmental progress and their affect on public health. When she’s not working hard in the office, catch Katie playing with her dogs at the river or trekking through the wilderness with her son.
