Be Part of the Teen Anti-Tobacco Movement: The 23rd Annual Breathe Youth Media Awards

The Breathe Youth Media Awards (BYMA) are headed your way this February.

Our signature teen anti-tobacco prevention event is entering its 23rd year engaging local teens in fighting the glamorization of tobacco use in popular media. At our annual ceremony, Sacramento’s future leaders recognize the films which most realistically portray the dangers of tobacco use or most grossly encourage it. The awards are based on data from our internationally-recognized Thumbs Up! Thumbs Down! student tobacco research program.

That is not all, the BYMA are also home to the CVS Health #BeTheFirst Tobacco-Free Generation Video Contest. Open to high school and middle school students in the greater Sacramento area, the #BeTheFirst Video Contest asks students to portray what it would be like to be the first tobacco-free generation?  Videos are due by January 30, 2018.  The night ends with a free all-inclusive after-party with free food, games, dancing, music, and prizes.
