Big Day of Giving 2016
The Sacramento region's BIG Day of Giving -- the annual 24-hour giving event that was extended due to a technical interruption that impacted similar events across the country -- generated a record $7.1 million in contributions to local nonprofits earlier this month, exceeding its $6 million goal and surpassing the $5.6 million raised during the giving event last year.
Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trail’s board of directors set the standard for this big day of giving with 100% giving participation which inspired staff to give at a high level. Breathe California received an additional $541.70 from the Golden1 Credit Union match, bringing the total funds raised online and offline to a new Big Day of Giving high of $8,741.
For Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails, we have decided to move our spring 2017 direct mail appeal to the beginning of April. We will utilize social media, website and email to highlight Clean Air Month, World Asthma Day and Big Day of Giving in May, 2017.
With all the support shown for the mission and programs of Breathe California on the Big Day of Giving, we can all agree … clean air, healthy lungs and tobacco-free living are important to us, one and all!
