Tracie the Teacher

Tracie loves being the O24u intern at Breathe California because working with kids is her passion, as well as a skill that comes naturally to her. Her child-like curiosity and love of adventure, alongside her dedication to her schooling and career, make her an ideal environmental educator. Tracie believes that education is key to raising awareness about the importance of improving the air quality, preventing asthma, and promoting healthy habits. She first became aware of the impact air quality makes on your health when she moved from Fontana, in Southern California, to Davis in order to attend school. It was her first time experiencing an environmentally friendly community with the infrastructure in place to support biking over driving. Tracie’s ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian specializing in public health and disease prevention. Her message to those who want to improve the health of our communities is, “communication is essential, talk to others around you, especially young people, and keep an open mind towards others’ ideas and values.”
