A natural competitor, Sophie loves sports. But for ten years as a competitive Irish Dancer, runner, tennis player and taekwondo student, she struggled through intense and sometimes terrifying breathing difficulties that she thought were normal. As a teenager, she was shocked to be diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma, and couldn’t believe she’d endured in silence for so long. Once she was armed with an inhaler to use before exercise, her performance drastically improved. She now plays previously unthinkable sports like cross country and long-distance track, and is passionate about spreading asthma awareness to other unsuspecting sufferers like her.
