Raquel Lopez

A family-oriented multi-tasker, Raquel began working at BREATHE in 1973 after business college. 40 years later, she exclaims “this has been a great organization to work for!” Raquel’s personally passionate about BREATHE as an anti-tobacco long-suffering asthmatic. “My dad was a heavy smoker, and I hated it. I realized after joining BREATHE that I’d always had undiagnosed asthma. Every time I had a cold when I was a kid, I was afraid I wouldn’t catch that last breath, and didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know I had asthma, until now.” Raquel’s excited about the change BREATHE has made throughout the years – locally, statewide and globally. “To see how we started non-smoking ordinances, the light rail, the smog check program and stopped rice straw burning right here in our offices has been amazing. And so are the great people that I have met along the way!”
