Danielle the Traveler

A bubbly, friendly people-person, high school senior Danielle enjoys traveling, learning new languages, fostering puppies, hiking, and playing soccer. Growing up she suspected she had asthma, but it wasn’t until eighth grade track practice that a nasty, long-lasting deep cough made her get properly diagnosed. She felt sad, annoyed and embarrassed, and especially scared when she had her first attack in the pool while training for a triathlon! But she learned to use her inhaler before exercise, and now never lets asthma hold her back. Danielle says, “Don’t be afraid to ask for help; it’s not a sign of weakness.”
