Cristie the Outdoor Girl

Cristie grew up in the backseat of a dune-buggy, always on the go in the muddy woods and mountains. In her thirties she visited her doctor for breathing difficulties, who prescribed an inhaler without instructions. She tried it once, threw it away, and her asthma worsened. She couldn’t walk 15 feet without feeling constrained and panicked, like her lungs were done. What would she do now? Thankfully she found another doctor and diagnosis, and her asthma’s now well-managed. Cristie’s back in her happy place on her bike, regularly hiking, climbing, and winning triathlons – and learning that persistence is key to achieving her goals!
