Eight year old Benjamin loves to ride his bike with his family and his dog. Together, they ride their bikes to go get ice cream or just ride around town. He does not like to see people using gasoline-fueled cars, smoking, or making chemical spills and not cleaning them up. In O24u, he learns about the importance of clean air and the causes and symptoms of Cardiovascular Disease. His favorite project in O24u was making fake mucus to resemble the mucus our lungs produce. Benjamin knows it’s “extra important to have clean air to breathe” to prevent Cardiovascular Disease from developing. He hopes that in the future he will see “everyone driving hybrid, electric or solar powered cars; using non-toxic paints; and not using harmful chemical cleaning products.”
